Klaas is the independent chair of General Fusion, a role he has held for 4 years. His involvement with the company dates back to 2009 when he helped to co-lead the first institutional investment round in General Fusion. Following a 25-year career in venture capital, he now holds a portfolio of chair and non-executive director roles. Klaas is also an independent investment committee member of Future Fund: Breakthrough, a late-stage, deep tech, direct co-investment programme managed by UK-government owned British Patient Capital.
