Session: TOUR DE FORCE
Dr. Tammy Ma is a member of the team that in December 2022 achieved fusion ignition; demonstrating more energy from fusion than the energy used to drive it. She is the lead for the Inertial Fusion Energy Initiative at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and leads efforts to support the U.S. Department of Energy’s national IFE program. She is the recipient of a Presidential Early Career Award for Science and Engineering, the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on outstanding scientists and engineers in the early stages of their careers. There is no one better than Tammy to tell us what an exciting time it is to work in fusion.
